Description

  • Own communication with stakeholders and other teams, including structuring requirements, setting priorities, and securing delivery commitments.
  • Manage the team by understanding individual strengths and weaknesses and assigning tasks based on abilities and development goals.
  • Own team capacity planning by tracking workload, forecasting needs, and preparing hires, processes, and tools before bottlenecks occur.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings and performance reviews.
  • Implement measures to improve team performance when needed.
  • Support individual growth, team well-being, and accountability within the team.
  • Participate in hiring and interviews to help build strong, well-balanced teams.
  • Conduct code reviews that maintain quality and support engineers’ development.
  • Design and oversee software system architecture to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams.
  • Experience leading teams to deliver on ambitious timelines while maintaining code quality.
  • Ability to balance team morale with accountability and communicate progress and risks transparently to stakeholders.
  • A people-first leadership mindset with genuine care for individual growth and team well-being.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to listen deeply and act with empathy.
  • Experience facilitating performance reviews, feedback sessions, and professional development planning.
  • Experience conducting code reviews focused on quality and engineer growth.
  • Experience participating in hiring and interviews to build strong, well-balanced teams.
  • Understanding of Linux systems, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Ability to design and oversee software architecture with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Decent written and spoken English for an international environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of real-time development with sub-microsecond latency (nice to have).
  • Experience in HFT, telecommunications, game development, or similar resource-constrained optimization-heavy fields (nice to have).
  • Solid understanding of modern C++ development and engineering processes (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of networks and interaction protocols (nice to have).
  • Proficiency with version control systems and CI/CD tools (nice to have).
