Description

  • Administer Okta users, groups, application assignments, policies, and access changes across business-critical systems.
  • Manage provisioning, deprovisioning, and role changes for employees, contractors, service accounts, and privileged users.
  • Support Okta integrations, including SAML, OIDC, SCIM, group mapping, application assignments, and downstream provisioning.
  • Test, validate, document, and implement approved integrations, automation, access workflows, and configuration updates.
  • Partner with IAM, Security, IT, Financial Systems, Engineering, application owners, and business teams to improve access controls and lifecycle processes.
  • Support SOX-compliant access governance through evidence gathering, access reviews, exception research, and remediation tracking.
  • Troubleshoot Okta access issues involving MFA, application tiles, group assignments, provisioning failures, and downstream applications.
  • Maintain group structures, naming conventions, access models, application ownership records, runbooks, and administrative documentation.
  • Identify and improve repetitive work through workflows, automation, IaC-managed processes, clearer intake, and ownership.
  • Provide occasional weekend escalation support for business-critical or time-sensitive access issues.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Okta, IAM, IT systems administration, SaaS administration, helpdesk escalation, or access management.
  • Working knowledge of Okta users, groups, application assignments, MFA, SSO concepts, and access lifecycle processes.
  • Exposure to SAML, OIDC, SCIM, APIs, workflow automation, or infrastructure-as-code-managed configuration.
  • Experience supporting access requests, onboarding and offboarding, permissions cleanup, user access reviews, or audit evidence.
  • Ability to follow change-control and approval procedures while identifying process improvements.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to work with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with IAM specialists, engineers, analysts, auditors, application owners, and business teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
  • Okta Certified Professional or Administrator certification preferred; Security+ or other IAM/security certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer; employment is contingent on a background check, with drug testing required for some roles.
