Description

Design, implement, and maintain MySQL and MariaDB database clusters.
Ensure database availability, performance, and high availability through replication.
Perform database capacity planning and storage management.
Implement and maintain database security measures, user access, permissions, and auditing.
Develop, test, and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
Monitor, optimize, and tune database and platform performance to resolve bottlenecks.
Plan and execute database upgrades, patching, and long-term upgrade strategies.
Diagnose and resolve database issues in production and development environments.
Support development teams by troubleshooting database-related problems.
Collaborate with production, development, and infrastructure teams to identify and resolve issues.

Requirements

3+ years of experience as a Galera or Percona Cluster Database Administrator in a production environment.
Deep understanding of MySQL database architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with Galera or Percona Cluster.
Experience with data migration, backup and restore, recovery, performance issues, blocking, and deadlocks.
Experience implementing and monitoring MySQL clusters for high availability in mission-critical environments.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation tasks.
Deep knowledge of one or more UNIX-like operating systems on the server side.
Experience with database security, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git for database configurations and scripts.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred but not required.
Experience in FinTech or financial services is advantageous.
Experience with PCI DSS or PCI 3DS certification processes is advantageous.
Familiarity with Aurora DB and Global Databases is advantageous.
Experience with FreeBSD is advantageous.
Experience with ZFS is advantageous.
