Description

  • Provide premium mainframe storage system programming support and services to Ensono clients.
  • Administer, configure, and install storage infrastructure across DASD, tape, virtual tape, encryption, and replication environments.
  • Fulfill customer service requests related to mainframe storage administration and related products in a timely manner.
  • Manage storage pools for multiple customers and LPARs.
  • Perform problem diagnostics, root cause analysis, and resolution for storage-related issues.
  • Create and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly backup jobs.
  • Participate in data center migration projects and customer transition efforts.
  • Perform data and volume recovery and migrate data between storage frames for existing customers.
  • Coordinate with hardware and software vendors as needed.
  • Support disaster recovery planning and execution with internal technical teams.
  • Follow ITSM change control procedures and maintain issue documentation in the problem tracking system.
  • Communicate issue status to customers and management throughout the resolution process.
  • Assist other mainframe teams and provide 24x7x365 support across multiple time zones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Mainframe Storage Support.
  • Extensive experience with IBM storage software, including IBM Copy Services Manager/Global Mirroring, SMS, HSM, IDCAMS, and DFDSS.
  • Experience preparing and implementing disaster recovery plans.
  • Expert knowledge of catalog structures, LPAR sysplexes, and resource sharing.
  • Extensive knowledge of DASD hardware configurations incorporating replication.
  • Extensive experience with IBM and Oracle/STK tape hardware and software.
  • Ability to analyze performance on DASD and tape subsystems.
  • Extensive experience with CA-1 and MIMTape.
  • Functional experience with Dell/EMC.
  • Functional experience with RMM, TLMS, GRS, Tapecopy, and SMF.
  • Experience customizing mainframe storage-related ISV software products.
  • Experience using system monitoring software for performance and response problem determination.
  • Ability to develop strategies, processes, and best practices in software management.
  • Knowledge of best practices in software management, maintenance, and documentation.
  • Experience establishing policies and procedures for database management, DR, security, maintenance, and utilization.
  • Ability to evaluate change requests, assess client impact, and troubleshoot production database issues.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong analytical skills for rapid problem determination and root cause isolation.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to support requests from multiple clients.
  • Ability to multitask and work under short deadlines and high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Shift availability from 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
