Description

  • Design automation solutions for multiple platforms using system knowledge and project management skills.
  • Engineer solutions that bridge tool capabilities with business requirements to improve client experience.
  • Identify and design automation that reduces or eliminates human intervention for corrective actions triggered by alerts.
  • Deliver solutions using agile development methodology.
  • Assess and analyze the performance of existing tools to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support architectural design efforts across Automation Point, OPS/MVS, and zOSMF platforms.
  • Work to improve proactive detection of issues before they become availability-impacting incidents.
  • Collaborate across teams to build and deliver quality solutions for clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and 10 years of development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Passion for creating a world-class client experience and building quality solutions through technology.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and continuously improve tool performance through automation.
  • Curiosity, aptitude to learn, and a strong desire to take on new challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence others, convey information appropriately, and build trusted relationships.
  • Curiosity and technical insight to assess, analyze, and discover better ways to deliver solutions.
  • Software development and programming experience, including writing and documenting code.
  • Experience with programming languages such as REXX and Assembler.
  • Experience with code hosting and version control platforms such as GitHub.
  • Experience with issue tracking and agile project management tools such as Jira or Bugzilla, including Scrum and Kanban boards.
  • Knowledge of mainframe operating systems and sub-components such as z/OS and MVS.
  • Experience with software packaging and distribution.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM), IT operations management (ITOM), and the ITIL framework.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodology principles and practices.
