Description

  • Lead the technical evolution of Engine’s control plane and define its future direction.
  • Design and ship reusable platform primitives such as Terraform modules, pipeline templates, and account or networking patterns.
  • Partner with embedded infrastructure engineers to identify recurring friction and convert it into self-serve capabilities.
  • Own AWS Organization hygiene, CI/CD reliability, vendor integration health, and incident response for shared infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain AWS control plane components including multi-account architecture, account vending, VPC networking, organizational guardrails, and IAM boundaries.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD platform components including shared GitHub Actions workflows, org-level policies, and secret distribution.
  • Work on Terraform execution tooling, including Terraform Cloud workspaces, module registry, and internal modules.
  • Handle networking and security infrastructure, including Cloudflare, core network topology, and certificate management.
  • Improve cost observability through tooling and dashboards that help teams understand ownership and spend.
  • Mentor engineers across the discipline and contribute to infra standups to teach, learn, and stay aligned.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience building and operating production cloud infrastructure.
  • Deep AWS expertise, including multi-account architecture, networking, IAM, and security boundaries.
  • Expert-level Terraform experience, including designing reusable modules and operating Terraform Cloud at scale.
  • Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, OIDC, and secret management.
  • Experience shipping platform engineering tools and abstractions that other engineers actively use.
  • A bias toward enabling teams through paved roads rather than gatekeeping.
  • Cloudflare experience at production scale, especially with WAF, DNS, or zero-trust/WARP, preferred.
  • Experience integrating vendors such as Datadog, JFrog, or similar tools, preferred.
  • Background in cost observability or FinOps tooling, preferred.
  • Experience working in or alongside embedded or platform engineering models, preferred.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary of $121,400 to $168,000 USD.
  • Total compensation may include equity and/or variable pay (OTE).
