Description

  • Own and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability across the data platform.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, technical documentation, and system lifecycle planning.
  • Define and enforce engineering standards across the lakehouse, orchestration, warehouse, and reporting systems.
  • Create documentation, guides, and knowledge-sharing practices for data teams.
  • Build and maintain internal tooling, including AI-enabled workflows and data quality frameworks.
  • Support AI adoption across data infrastructure.
  • Develop and enhance Redshift models and transformations using dbt and Paradime.
  • Orchestrate pipelines with MWAA and Paradime, and provision reproducible infrastructure using Pulumi or Terraform.
  • Contribute to ELT, containerized Python, and event-driven ingestion pipelines using S3, Glue, and Iceberg.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data platform, data engineering, analytics engineering, DataOps, or a related production role.
  • Broad technical knowledge across the data stack and comfort solving unfamiliar problems.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, including database execution, performance, storage, access, and permissions concepts.
  • Sufficient dbt experience to review work and establish engineering standards.
  • Experience with AWS data services such as Redshift, S3, IAM, Athena, and Glue, or equivalent technologies.
  • Knowledge of lakehouse architectures, including Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake.
  • Experience with Airflow or equivalent orchestration tools and modern ingestion platforms such as Airbyte or Fivetran.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi, Terraform, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, documentation, and architecture decision-making skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English; based in Europe with workable timezone overlap, specifically Portugal or Germany.
