Description

  • Define benchmark methodologies and guidelines for competitive performance testing.
  • Optimize products to ensure fair and equal testing conditions.
  • Run benchmarks and analyze performance results.
  • Work with engineering and developer relations to validate benchmarking approach and findings.
  • Publish benchmark results in technical blogs or white papers with reproducible test details.
  • Measure and communicate performance metrics across Elastic and competitor products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to position Elastic effectively in the market.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience with Python, Java, and Linux shell scripting.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems performance analysis, including CPU, memory, disk I/O, network, latency, and throughput.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis for performance issues in complex systems.
  • Familiarity with benchmarking in Linux VM and containerized environments.
  • Experience writing about benchmarking results for external audiences.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects and collaborate across geographically distributed teams.
  • Experience building benchmarking frameworks, performance tooling, or automated test infrastructure (preferred).
  • Experience working in public cloud environments, especially AWS and GCP (preferred).
  • Experience with Kubernetes and/or Terraform (preferred).
  • Prior experience with Elasticsearch (preferred).
  • Experience applying AI to improve benchmarking practices, benchmark design, or benchmarking tooling (preferred).

  • Base salary range of $122,300 to $172,300 CAD.
