Description

  • Lead delivery engagements while also managing strategic relationships with senior government stakeholders.
  • Own the customer strategic roadmap and facilitate quarterly strategic sessions with key stakeholders.
  • Work across Elastic’s services, engineering, sales, product management, and support teams to advance customer goals.
  • Design, develop, and integrate Elastic products and APIs in mission-critical environments.
  • Perform platform architecture planning, including capacity planning, for customer implementations.
  • Create demos and proof-of-concepts that demonstrate the value of the Elastic Stack.
  • Develop and optimize data models, queries, clusters, and scaling approaches for fast search and analytics at scale.
  • Solve complex customer data problems and support technical decision-making.
  • Partner with Sales to scope opportunities and assess technical risks and concerns.
  • Provide customer-facing guidance that balances hands-on delivery with strategic advisory work.

Requirements

  • Current security clearance is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer, System Administrator, or DevOps Engineer.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant delivering professional services engagements.
  • Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch and/or Lucene.
  • Experience speaking to large technical audiences or serving as a technical instructor is required or strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work directly with customers to gather, prioritize, plan, and execute solutions to business requirements.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language and an understanding of open-source technology.
  • Hands-on experience with large distributed systems from an architecture and development perspective.
  • Knowledge of information retrieval and/or analytics domains.
  • Understanding of Linux, Java, and databases.
  • Willingness to work onsite frequently with customers and travel as needed.
  • Bonus: Deep understanding of Elasticsearch and Lucene, including Elastic Certified Engineer certification.
  • Bonus: BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
  • Bonus: Strong knowledge of Java and Linux/Unix environments, software development, and/or distributed systems.
  • Bonus: Experience delivering or developing product training.
  • Bonus: Experience contributing to an open-source project or documentation.
