Description

  • Administer Windows servers and workstations, including installation, updates, troubleshooting, and server feature management.
  • Administer Linux servers, including deployment, patching, package management, service monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Manage Truenas CORE and SCALE file servers, including service and performance administration.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot PostgreSQL databases, including backups, replication, schema migrations, and tuning.
  • Manage Active Directory user and group lifecycles, OU structure, Group Policy, and AD health monitoring.
  • Configure and maintain Remote Desktop Services and terminal services environments, including session hosts, licensing, profiles, RD Gateway, and security.
  • Provide first- and second-line helpdesk support for server and workstation incidents and escalate issues when needed.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and capacity planning to support 24/7 operations.
  • Perform backups and validate disaster recovery and business continuity procedures for systems and databases.
  • Harden systems, enforce security best practices, automate routine tasks, and maintain documentation and incident records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent performance experience; industry certifications are also acceptable.
  • 3+ years of systems administration experience supporting both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Strong Linux administration experience with Ubuntu, RedHat, and other distributions.
  • Solid Windows Server administration experience, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Experience administering Remote Desktop Services or equivalent VDI/session-host technologies.
  • Practical PostgreSQL administration experience with backups, replication, tuning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience providing helpdesk or end-user support and triaging incidents.
  • Proficiency with Bash, PowerShell, and Python, plus familiarity with automation/configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and firewalls.
  • Understanding of security controls, IAM concepts, and best practices.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and customer-service skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as RHCE/LPIC, Microsoft Certified: Azure/Windows Server, or PostgreSQL certification (preferred).
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, Entra, or Intune (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Proxmox, FSLogix, session brokering, or VDI platforms (preferred).
