Description

  • Design, build and maintain AL extensions, including tables, pages, codeunits, report layouts and related objects.
  • Develop Business Central customisations beyond standard configuration and custom fields.
  • Build and maintain the Business Central components of cross-system integrations.
  • Develop custom APIs, events and interface logic from approved designs.
  • Test AL development thoroughly and resolve defects found in review, testing or production.
  • Maintain source control, versioning and change documentation.
  • Work with consultants, technical leads and developers to clarify requirements and coordinate delivery.
  • Follow security, governance and technical standards for reliable and supportable solutions.
  • Participate in sprint planning, prioritisation and delivery coordination.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or NAV AL development, or comparable development experience with demonstrated AL capability.
  • Proven experience developing AL extensions, including tables, pages, codeunits and report layouts.
  • Working knowledge of the Business Central data model, architecture, development patterns and platform capabilities.
  • Exposure to Business Central integrations using custom APIs, events and interface logic.
  • Experience with source control, versioning and structured deployment practices.
  • Experience in an industrial, field services, trades or similar operational environment is highly regarded.
  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant Business Central or AL training is advantageous.
  • Microsoft MB-820 Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer certification, or a commitment to achieve it, is viewed favourably.
  • Clear written and verbal English communication skills, strong self-management, attention to detail and willingness to take on more complex work.
