Description

  • Lead the visual evolution of brands across pitches and flagship projects, maintaining a world-class standard in design, typography, and composition.
  • Guide junior to mid-level art directors and designers with craft-based feedback and mentorship.
  • Partner with creative strategy and media teams to develop performance creative informed by data and creative instincts.
  • Own the visual narrative across multi-channel campaigns, ensuring a cohesive look and feel across film, digital, social, and physical experiences.
  • Lead the visual production process, including selecting photographers and directors and overseeing color grading, retouching, and motion design.
  • Present design systems and art direction to clients and explain the strategic rationale behind visual decisions.
  • Partner with creative leadership to improve workflows, establish quality standards, and evaluate new tools or AI-driven technologies.
  • Foster an inclusive, design-forward team culture that encourages experimentation and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in art direction or design within a creative agency, high-growth brand, or related environment.
  • Mastery of art direction, layout, typography, and integrated visual storytelling across platforms.
  • Deep understanding of performance creative best practices and paid social marketing platforms.
  • Experience leading small teams or overseeing freelancers and junior creatives.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Familiarity with Figma, motion design, or emerging AI creative tools.
  • Concepting skills and the ability to craft compelling campaigns or copy within brand guidelines.
  • Ability to align visual choices, from color palette to casting, with client business goals and brand identity.
  • Must be located within 50 miles of New York, NY or in the tri-state area for this remote role.
