Description

  • Lead annual budget planning and ongoing monitoring for complex value-based fee arrangements.
  • Act as the primary financial partner to partners and client stakeholders on budget planning, spend optimization, and fee arrangements.
  • Develop, manage, and report on multi-jurisdictional matter budgets in coordination with the Global Billing Coordinator.
  • Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for large cross-border client programs with clear governance and reporting.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across internal lawyers, local counsel, ALSPs, and technology partners across time zones and workstreams.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, scheduling conflicts, and resourcing gaps proactively.
  • Support client relationship management through regular reporting, governance meetings, and preparation of materials for partner and executive forums.
  • Prepare leadership communications and presentations that provide strategic analysis and insights.
  • Identify, implement, and embed AI-powered and legal technology tools to improve efficiency, quality, and matter management.

Requirements

  • Available to work within the 13:00–21:00 CET time slot.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management/pricing and legal project management in a law firm, in-house legal department, or ALSP environment.
  • Deep expertise in legal matter budgeting, AFAs, outside counsel guideline compliance, and/or legal financial reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to prepare and present to senior client and firm leadership.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, CoPilot or similar tools, and AI tools for project management and workflow.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-jurisdictional legal budgets with meaningful budget responsibility is preferred.
  • Experience in a dedicated client service or embedded legal ops role is preferred.
  • Exposure to cross-border regulatory, M&A, or commercial matters is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of legal AI platforms such as Harvey, Legora, or comparable tools is preferred.
