Description

  • Support and collaborate on animation solutions that improve gameplay readability, storytelling, and design mechanics.
  • Author and implement key-frame animation for characters, creatures, and other assets.
  • Prototype and iterate quickly on animations to achieve the desired gameplay feel.
  • Apply character, controls, and camera principles to both first-person and third-person views.
  • Create and maintain animation workflows, pipelines, and processes for action games.
  • Implement animation work in Unreal Engine, including first- and third-person workflows.
  • Maintain animation documentation and share techniques with teammates.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of game industry experience.
  • At least 1 shipped title.
  • Production experience with Unreal Engine.
  • Experience with anim blueprints, montages, and animation workflows in Unreal.
  • Experience setting up character and facial rigging.
  • Experience with Maya, Max, and/or MotionBuilder.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in an agile, fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Portfolio required.
  • Preferred: traditional animation skills.
  • Preferred: motion capture experience, including directing and clean-up.
  • Preferred: first-person animation experience.
  • Preferred: T-shaped game development skills such as modeling, VFX, lighting, or coding.
  • Preferred: passion for third-person action-adventure games and multiplayer games (PvE and PvP).
  • Preferred: modeling skills.
  • Remote work within the United States may be available; relocation assistance may also be available.
