Description

  • Prepare quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, proxy statements, registration statements, and relevant Forms 8-K.
  • Coordinate XBRL and iXBRL tagging and other external filing activities.
  • Research complex accounting matters, prepare technical accounting memoranda, and monitor emerging FASB and SEC guidance.
  • Administer equity activity through Morgan Stanley Shareworks, including grants, vesting, settlements, option exercises, and related reporting.
  • Prepare stock-based compensation calculations, reconciliations, and disclosures.
  • Design, document, and operate internal controls over financial reporting while supporting SOX readiness.
  • Coordinate external audits, including prepared-by-client schedules, supporting documentation, and technical inquiries.
  • Support month-end close activities, accounting policies, reporting procedures, and process improvements.
  • Assist the Controller and Finance organization with accounting matters and special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and related SEC disclosures.
  • Experience with technical accounting research and clear accounting memoranda.
  • Experience with stock-based compensation under ASC 718 and equity-related accounting.
  • Experience with ICFR and SOX environments and direct collaboration with external auditors.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and organizational skills.
  • CPA license, Big 4 or national public accounting experience, and public-company or high-growth corporate accounting experience are preferred.
  • Experience with Shareworks, Carta, XBRL, complex equity instruments, ASC 842 leases, or ASC 410 asset retirement obligations is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. person eligible under DOE Export Control requirements in 10 CFR 810.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment and travel domestically, with quarterly offsite travel anticipated.
