Description

  • Own the employee device lifecycle, including procurement, setup, onboarding, offboarding, inventory, and retirement.
  • Administer Google Workspace and other SaaS applications, including user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Manage endpoints through MDM, including patching, encryption, and configuration standards.
  • Provide helpdesk support and create self-service documentation for common technical issues.
  • Manage IT vendors, software licenses, budget, renewals, and cost decisions.
  • Evaluate technology services and applications and improve IT processes and operations.
  • Partner with the Director of Security and Compliance to maintain audit-ready SOC 2 evidence.
  • Support cybersecurity audits, assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance-gap reduction.
  • Maintain IT policies and procedures and support incident-response triage, escalation, and documentation.
  • Use AI tools and automation to improve security monitoring, third-party risk management, and incident response.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT operations or systems administration experience, including at least 2 years owning IT for an organization or office.
  • Direct experience supporting a SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar audit, including evidence collection and control operation.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS; Linux experience is preferred.
  • Experience with identity and access management platforms, MDM, and SaaS administration.
  • Experience creating technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Clear, patient communication skills for supporting non-technical colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritize competing helpdesk and compliance needs.
  • Commitment to DataKind’s mission, educational equity, and data-driven social impact.
  • Hands-on experience with GRC tools, HRIS-to-IdP automated provisioning, or building processes in a small or growing organization is preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+, Google Workspace Administrator, or Microsoft 365 Administrator certification is preferred.
  • Must have a permanent U.S.-based address and authorization to work full-time in the U.S. indefinitely without visa sponsorship.
  • Available for the majority of working hours between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
