Description

  • Create, deliver, and maintain training programs aligned with EPA requirements for hazardous waste handling, storage, and shipment preparation.
  • Track and manage initial and recurrent training schedules to meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Evaluate Field Service Representatives at customer sites to assess competency and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Review field service practices to identify gaps and develop solutions to improve performance and compliance.
  • Evaluate hazardous waste technician position descriptions to ensure responsibilities are clear.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and field service teams to determine needs for new customer implementations.
  • Serve as the organization’s primary resource for hazardous waste field service responsibilities, training, and duties.
  • Conduct field-based competency evaluations, prepare audit reports, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in hazardous waste field operations, EHS, or equivalent technical training experience such as field chemist or site supervisor roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, safety, or chemistry preferred, or equivalent experience in hazardous waste management, field service, or program management.
  • Strong knowledge of RCRA generator standards, hazardous waste management practices, and DOT hazardous materials shipment requirements.
  • Basic understanding of waste profiling, compatibility/segregation, and spill response procedures.
  • Experience developing training programs and training individuals on complex topics with varying levels of experience.
  • Ability to perform field-based evaluations and provide audit reports and corrective action plans.
  • Comfortable engaging with internal and external customers at all levels, from onsite staff to leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Preferred certifications include OSHA HAZWOPER Training (24 hour or 40 hour), DOT HazMat Certification, and EPA RCRA Certification.
  • Travel up to 60% with flexibility to accommodate fluctuations based on business need.

  • Salary range of $65,107 to $75,331 per year.
