Description

  • Assess the quality of physician reports to ensure they meet client and jurisdictional standards for long-term disability claims.
  • Verify that claims documentation supports physicians’ determinations in long-term disability cases.
  • Review policy guidelines and healthcare terminology to determine when long-term disability criteria are met.
  • Work closely with clients to provide timely, complete, and error-free quality assurance on a case-by-case basis.
  • Manage and oversee complex long-term disability cases that require additional review before being returned to the client.
  • Serve as an additional quality assurance layer for cases with quality issues using clinical claims knowledge.
  • Communicate with physician reviewers and their teams to clarify information and address questions.
  • Participate in other duties and special projects as assigned based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of claims experience preferred.
  • Disability experience required.
  • Experience in a healthcare and/or insurance business environment preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive for performance excellence.
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Proficiency navigating computer programs; experience with Google Chrome, Gmail, Docs, and Sheets is a plus.
  • Excellent computer literacy and typing skills essential.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and manage time efficiently.
  • Must supply and support own internet service for remote work and maintain an uninterrupted internet connection.
