Description

  • Design and implement serverless solutions in AWS using Lambda, API Gateway, and event-driven services.
  • Own technical decisions across architecture, scalability, performance, and cost trade-offs.
  • Extend and improve existing production systems based on real business requirements.
  • Translate functional requirements into well-structured technical solutions.
  • Build and maintain backend logic in Python for integrations, data processing, and service orchestration.
  • Implement and maintain event-driven architectures using Kafka, SNS, and EventBridge.
  • Ensure error handling, observability, and reliability in distributed environments.
  • Collaborate with backend, DevOps, and business teams to deliver robust solutions.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions within pre-existing systems.
  • Follow and evolve existing patterns and best practices without unnecessary reinvention.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in backend or cloud engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing backend or serverless solutions using Python.
  • Proven production experience with AWS serverless services, especially Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Experience with event-driven systems and asynchronous, distributed processing.
  • Experience influencing architecture decisions in serverless or cloud-native systems.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and when to use it versus serverless or monolithic approaches.
  • Experience handling production issues such as timeouts, long-running processes, data processing at scale, and service-to-service communication.
  • Practical knowledge of IAM and security best practices, including least privilege.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment flows.
  • Nice to have: experience implementing ETL processes in serverless environments, familiarity with Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation, exposure to GraphQL or gRPC, and experience in financial or regulated environments.
