Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain a robust, efficient, and compliant application data repository and integration architecture.
  • Troubleshoot, expand, and optimize existing data integrations and architecture.
  • Refactor and migrate legacy structures and code into cloud and service-based architectures.
  • Work with business and IT stakeholders to resolve data-related technical issues and provide application support.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party engineers through solution design reviews, code reviews, and process reviews.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automating manual work and optimizing data delivery and infrastructure scalability.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, methodologies, and architectures for viability.
  • Build and maintain a service-based architecture for web and mobile applications.
  • Contribute to frameworks, guidelines, best practices, and examples to ensure data structures and integration processes are accurate, compliant, and secure.
  • Implement telemetry, quality metrics, and access controls to monitor performance, accuracy, and compliance.

Requirements

  • 7 or more years of data engineering experience in an oversight capacity.
  • Extensive domain-specific experience in the financial services industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft cloud-based technologies in a hybrid architecture.
  • Advanced Microsoft SQL Server expertise, including on-prem and Azure SQL, advanced T-SQL, query design, execution plans, index strategies, partitioning, statistics, and concurrency/isolation levels.
  • Strong data modeling knowledge, including 3NF normalization, strategic denormalization, star/snowflake schemas, surrogate vs. natural keys, referential integrity, and temporal tables.
  • Experience performing operational analysis on data and processes to identify failure points and improvement opportunities.
  • Experience designing and implementing API-oriented schemas for web and mobile application performance and optimization.
  • Knowledge of data preparation, metadata, dependencies, lineages, compliance, and workload management.
  • Security and governance experience, including RBAC, least privilege, secrets management, PII handling, encryption, row-level security, auditing, and compliance such as SOC2, HIPAA, or GDPR.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Fabric, including pipelines, notebooks, Lakehouse/Warehouse concepts, and Medallion architecture.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for AIS and Fabric assets.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT and data movement tools and patterns such as SSIS, ADF/Azure Data Factory, dbt, Airflow, CDC/change tracking, bulk load utilities, and data quality checks.
  • Experience designing metadata-driven and reusable integration patterns.
  • Experience with API Management, including API design, security with OAuth/JWT, policies, and versioning.
  • Experience reverse-engineering, refactoring, and migrating legacy applications.
  • Experience with Service Bus and Event Grid design patterns for asynchronous and event-driven integrations.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Experience with MDM concepts such as golden record, survivorship, matching, and data quality.
  • Commitment to client confidentiality and data security.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a service-oriented and professional manner.
  • Ability to work proactively with internal and external clients in a collaborative, professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance.
