Description

  • Monitor database and application availability, performance, health, and recoverability.
  • Diagnose outages involving databases, services, connections, authentication, certificates, APIs, network paths, and resource constraints.
  • Analyze dependencies across databases, servers, middleware, cloud, storage, networks, and external interfaces using logs, metrics, traces, and alerts.
  • Support certificate installation, renewal, and resolution of TLS/PKI failures.
  • Participate in outage response, including triage, diagnostics collection, mitigation, recovery, and incident timeline maintenance.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure and software teams on defect resolution, providing diagnostics, reproduction steps, impact assessments, and validation.
  • Support root-cause analysis and completion of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Execute upgrade, implementation, rollback, and pre- and post-deployment validation procedures.
  • Support backups, restores, replication, failover, high availability, disaster recovery, and post-recovery transaction validation.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and maintain dependency diagrams, certificate inventories, recovery procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in database support, application support, systems engineering, production operations, or enterprise IT.
  • Demonstrated experience diagnosing database availability, application dependency, connection, service, certificate, and API outages.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher.
  • Ability to support after-hours outages, deployments, maintenance windows, upgrades, and recovery activities.
  • Experience supporting enterprise databases and applications in a federal or DoD environment (preferred).
  • Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS relational database services, Azure SQL, or comparable platforms, including clustering, replication, and failover (preferred).
  • Experience with IIS, Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss, .NET, Java, or comparable application-server technologies (preferred).
  • Experience with TLS certificates, trust stores, keystores, PKI dependencies, and observability tools; ServiceNow or comparable ITSM tools for incident response and root-cause analysis (preferred).
  • Familiarity with PowerShell, Python, SQL, or Bash and DISA STIG, DoD RMF, ATO, IAVA, and POA&M requirements; relevant database, cloud, middleware, application-server, or ITIL certifications are preferred.
