Description

  • Own the AD DS domain, OU, site, trust, and Group Policy architecture and documentation.
  • Administer and recover directory objects, including users, computers, groups, and service accounts.
  • Design OU structures, delegated administration, and least-privilege permissions.
  • Develop, deploy, troubleshoot, back up, and recover Group Policy Objects.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot trusts, replication topology, domain-controller health, SYSVOL, DFSR, DNS, time synchronization, and FSMO roles.
  • Plan domain-controller installations, upgrades, demotions, retirements, and controlled schema extensions.
  • Resolve escalated authentication, authorization, policy, trust, replication, and account-access incidents.
  • Develop and test AD backup, restoration, deleted-object recovery, forest-recovery, COOP, and disaster-recovery procedures.
  • Test AD integrations with Okta and other approved identity platforms, including provisioning, authentication flows, mappings, and federation protocols.
  • Automate directory administration and reporting; apply DISA STIGs, support RMF remediation, and maintain SOPs and configuration baselines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent qualifying professional experience.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in Active Directory, identity engineering, Windows infrastructure, or systems engineering.
  • Hands-on enterprise Microsoft AD DS engineering experience with objects, OUs, GPOs, trusts, replication, schema, delegated permissions, and recovery.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex authentication, authorization, Group Policy, replication, and trust issues.
  • Experience with AD backup, restoration, forest recovery, and identity-integration or modernization testing.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or hybrid identity environments (preferred).
  • Experience with PowerShell, DISA STIGs, RMF, federal or DoD ICAM, and federation technologies such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth, SCIM, LDAP, Kerberos, NTLM, or AD FS (preferred).
  • Microsoft, Okta, security, or ITIL certifications are preferred; occasional after-hours work, travel, and on-site support may be required.
