Description

  • Develop comprehensive merchandise plans aligned with company goals, sales targets, and market trends across multiple product categories.
  • Own and manage open-to-buy meetings and monthly reviews with senior leadership.
  • Forecast demand using historical data, market trends, and customer insights to support sales projections, inventory needs, and replenishment strategies.
  • Monitor inventory levels, analyze sell-through rates, and recommend actions to optimize on-order quantities, reduce stock-outs, and limit overstock.
  • Conduct financial analysis of sales performance, margin trends, and product profitability, and present actionable recommendations.
  • Manage the financial success of assigned divisions by meeting sales, margin, and inventory turn goals.
  • Ensure reporting deliverables are accurate, efficient, and aligned with standardized best practices.
  • Identify opportunities beyond day-to-day operations to maximize sales potential and drive incremental growth.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising, Finance, and senior leadership to influence buying decisions and financial outcomes.
  • Own the open-to-buy process and take end-to-end responsibility for division performance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of assortment, demand, or merchandise planning experience, including 2+ years in a retail e-commerce environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional aptitude for numbers and retail math.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, and ability to learn new technical applications quickly.
  • Demonstrated daily use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or similar for real work.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to present complex information concisely to varied audiences.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities, with the ability to organize and prioritize workload under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Softgoods planning experience is preferred.
  • Experience planning a mixed-brand business is preferred.
  • Knowledge of demand planning, allocation, and forecasting systems such as JDA, Oracle, SAP, or Anaplan is preferred.
