Description

  • Compile and analyze medical billing data, provider policies, and price-transparency benchmarks.
  • Prepare fair-price documents with recommended settlement amounts based on research and industry standards.
  • Verify that bill audits, patient forms, compliance findings, and other case materials are complete and accurate.
  • Submit negotiation materials to hospitals, billing departments, and provider offices.
  • Serve as the primary contact for providers, answer questions, obtain status updates, and follow up on open cases.
  • Manage multiple patient cases through each stage of negotiation until resolution.
  • Keep clients informed of case progress with empathy, professionalism, and respect.
  • Coordinate escalated cases with the legal department and public or legal advocacy efforts.
  • Partner with patient advocacy and data/operations teams to identify trends and improve case tracking and processes.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service, patient services, healthcare billing, or administrative support.
  • Strong background in medical billing, coding, and price-transparency data.
  • CPC, CIC, or COC coding certification.
  • Experience working with hospitals, insurance companies, or patient advocacy organizations.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, patient rights, and healthcare provider practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional phone and email etiquette.
  • Ability to serve vulnerable populations with empathy and respect.
  • Must reside outside New York, California, New Jersey, and Rhode Island.
