Description

  • Modernize insurance application workflows in Django by updating and automating internal processes for the Risk Engineering team.
  • Collaborate with Product, Insurance, Data, and AI stakeholders to deliver a seamless platform experience.
  • Integrate AI into day-to-day workflows and build AI-enabled tools that improve adoption and productivity.
  • Enhance the HR application to support the next phase of growth.
  • Create new services that help the Claims team process a higher volume of complex claims across multiple insurance lines.
  • Define and establish AI-enabled engineering standards for code review, architecture decisions, test generation, and documentation.
  • Work with engineering leaders to improve the remote developer experience and support sustainable team growth.
  • Lead technical and product design specifications from conception through execution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Python.
  • 2+ years of experience with Django.
  • 2+ years of experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
  • 2+ years of experience with TypeScript.
  • Experience building and maintaining a service platform for human and programmatic users.
  • Experience working on a remote team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AI coding assistants such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Windsurf as core development tools.
  • Experience using AI for system design, architecture decisions, prompt engineering, debugging, test generation, and documentation.
  • Ability to use AI-first workflows to accelerate development velocity without sacrificing quality.
  • Experience writing and executing product and technical design specifications.

Benefits

  • Estimated pay range of USD $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
  • Fully distributed work environment with the ability to work from anywhere.
  • Up to $100 per calendar year for language classes.
  • Paid vacation and time off.
  • Up to 8 weeks of unpaid parental leave, subject to approval and advance request requirements.
  • Reimbursement for a locally procured MacBook Pro, which you can keep after one year.
