Description

  • Inspect homes and grounds and complete preventive maintenance and as-needed repairs.
  • Perform general repairs using basic trade skills in plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, masonry, and building construction.
  • Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner while maintaining a clean workspace.
  • Complete make-ready and turnover work according to the established timeline and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Follow company safety standards and safety guidelines for tools and equipment.
  • Accurately complete documentation such as work orders and timesheets.
  • Monitor for potential hazards and warning signs of problems and address them promptly.
  • Maintain community appearance through playground cleanup, trash pickup, and related grounds or housekeeping tasks.
  • Support team operations under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor or lead maintenance technician.
  • May train Level I Maintenance Technicians in a hands-on setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in multi-family or housing maintenance, construction, or trades.
  • Proven competency in 2-3 trades, or graduation from a technical school with certification/license in 2-3 trades.
  • Experience or certification in Type I and II EPA, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, masonry, or building construction is preferred.
  • Above-average knowledge of residential maintenance operations.
  • Above-average knowledge and use of hand tools.
  • Above-average knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to identify and operate specialty equipment used for the relevant trade(s).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and train level I maintenance technicians.
  • Ability to read English, interpret documents, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Availability for mandatory after-hours emergency repairs and on-call rotations, including irregular hours and weekends.
  • Must provide and maintain own basic hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Use of a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement required.
  • Commitment to participating in the Corvias training program and completing assigned classroom courses.
