Description

  • Inspect properties and perform preventative maintenance or repairs on homes and grounds.
  • Complete maintenance tasks involving plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, masonry, and building construction.
  • Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner while maintaining a clean work area.
  • Complete make-ready and turnover work according to schedule and troubleshoot issues during the turnover process.
  • Perform work safely and efficiently in accordance with company safety standards and report potential hazards.
  • Use tools and equipment according to safety guidelines and demonstrate working knowledge of the equipment used.
  • Accurately complete work orders, timesheets, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain community appearance through cleanup, trash pickup, and related grounds or housekeeping duties.
  • Train or support level I Maintenance Techs in a hands-on team environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in multi-family or housing maintenance, construction, or trades.
  • Proven competency in 2-3 trades, or technical school graduation with certification/license in 2-3 trades.
  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, masonry, or building construction.
  • Above-average knowledge of residential maintenance operations.
  • Above-average knowledge and use of hand tools.
  • Above-average knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to identify and operate specialty equipment used for the applicable trade(s).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and train level I Maintenance Techs.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate professionally with residents.
  • Ability to read English, interpret documents, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Availability for after-hours emergency repairs, on-call rotations, and irregular weekend work.
  • Ability to provide and maintain personal basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to wear a respirator after passing a medical exam and fit test.
  • Valid driver's license required; use of a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement required.
  • Commitment to participate in Corvias training and complete assigned classroom courses.
  • Type I and II EPA certification preferred for relevant trade experience.
