Description

  • Design and build new resilient batch and real-time data pipelines that support critical products and business growth.
  • Design and build data pipelines for migrating from existing data models and sources into new production data models and databases.
  • Implement proactive monitoring and quality-focused practices to improve data reliability and performance.
  • Optimize data models to enable fast and efficient decision-making across product and business use cases.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and data science teams to translate business needs into scalable production-ready data solutions.
  • Help define the long-term data engineering roadmap and establish best practices for the organization.
  • Coach and mentor teammates while fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Make sound decisions and operate effectively in a highly ambiguous, fast-changing environment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
  • Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
  • Deep expertise in data processing technologies and writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience driving innovation within highly technical, distributed teams.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects to completion.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating robust distributed data platforms such as Snowflake, Spark, Flink, or Kafka.
  • Experience handling large datasets.
  • Experience building, productionalizing, and optimizing both real-time and batch data pipelines.
  • Experience designing data architectures for multiple use cases, including experimentation, is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes and containers is preferred.
  • Experience in a rapid-growth company or early-stage startup environment is preferred.
  • A passion for food is preferred.
