Description

  • Design and build resilient batch and real-time data pipelines that support critical products and business growth.
  • Build pipelines to migrate data from existing models and sources into new production data models and databases.
  • Improve data reliability and performance through proactive monitoring and quality-first engineering practices.
  • Optimize data models to enable fast, efficient decision-making across product and business use cases.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and data science teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Help define the long-term data engineering roadmap and establish best practices for the org.
  • Coach teammates and contribute to a culture of learning, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Work independently in high-ambiguity environments and make sound technical decisions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
  • Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
  • Deep expertise in data processing technologies and writing complex SQL queries.
  • Proven experience driving innovation within highly technical, distributed teams.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating robust distributed data platforms such as Snowflake, Spark, Flink, or Kafka.
  • Experience building, productionalizing, and optimizing real-time and batch data pipelines.
  • Experience handling large datasets.
  • Experience designing data architectures for multiple use cases, including experimentation (preferred).
  • Cloud-native technology experience, including Kubernetes and containers (preferred).
  • Experience in a rapid-growth company or early-stage startup environment (preferred).
  • Strong opinions on engineering best practices and the ability to contribute to engineering culture (preferred).
  • Passion for food (preferred).
