Description

  • Support capital raising activities for HoldCo/Mezzanine financing, non-recourse project financing, leases, and tax equity for battery storage and other energy projects.
  • Serve as deal captain or support the deal captain in coordinating internal and external tax, accounting, legal, and other stakeholders on transaction structures.
  • Assist with deal closing by coordinating reviews and approvals across cross-functional teams under tight timelines.
  • Review the completeness and accuracy of financial analyses and valuation models for contracted and merchant revenue streams and financing alternatives.
  • Develop and maintain valuation methodologies and key assumptions supporting pro forma financials at the project and portfolio level.
  • Partner with accounting and tax teams to implement hedging and other risk management strategies for currency, rate, and commodity exposures.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership on financing structures and portfolio growth.
  • Serve as a liaison among internal teams and external stakeholders to align on transaction goals and manage risks.
  • Prepare financing marketing materials, including teasers, CIMs, and internal committee memos.
  • Build and present financial analyses and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience collaborating with internal functions such as asset management, pricing/analytics, project execution, procurement, legal, tax, and accounting, as well as external consultants.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present concisely to senior management and third parties.
  • Ability to prepare and present financing marketing materials, including teasers, CIMs, and internal committee memos.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, transaction-driven environment with multiple high-pressure, time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and able to build and maintain complex financial models.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong multitasking ability.
  • Ability to build and present PowerPoint presentations.
  • Intellectual curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and alignment with Convergent’s mission and values, including interest in the clean energy transition.
  • 10% travel expected, including site visits, conferences, and meetings with financing counterparties.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience translating financial jargon and financing requirements for other departments in a way that builds trust and collaboration preferred.
  • Experience mentoring junior employees preferred.

  • Base salary range of $135,000-$150,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
