Description

  • Own the monthly close process and deliver accurate, timely financial statements.
  • Prepare GAAP-compliant consolidated financial statements and intercompany eliminations.
  • Review billing, journal entries, reconciliations, and account coding for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, payroll, and related compliance workflows.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, reporting, reserves, and tracking for a reseller and drop-ship model.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, approval matrices, and NetSuite approval workflows.
  • Support audits, tax filings, sales and indirect tax compliance, and other external provider coordination.
  • Partner with the fractional CFO and leadership on forecasting, cash flow, pricing, and financial strategy.
  • Direct internal accounting staff and manage outsourced accounting, tax, and CPA relationships.
  • Build reporting and analytical views for revenue, gross margin, client profitability, and cash flow.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including controller or senior accounting experience.
  • Experience as a controller or senior accountant in a privately held, closely held, or family-owned mid-market company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • CPA or public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • ERP experience required; NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • Strong Excel and Google Suite skills.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Experience with multi-entity consolidations, foreign subsidiaries, and intercompany eliminations.
  • Experience with inventory accounting in a reseller, distribution, or drop-ship environment.
  • Working knowledge of multi-state sales and indirect tax, nexus, and outsourced tax/accounting providers.
  • Experience building internal controls, segregation of duties, and approval frameworks.
  • Proficiency in AI tools aligned with company AI policies.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and clear communication with non-finance leaders.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote role with a distributed team.
  • Experience in a services, IT, or high-growth environment is a plus.
  • Experience leading accounting teams and developing staff is preferred.
  • Experience with foreign currency translation and multi-currency consolidations.
