Description

  • Design and implement authentication and authorization controls for a large graph-based database.
  • Build and evolve OAuth-based authentication and authorization flows, including token handling, permission models, and enforcement.
  • Improve the production security posture through concrete engineering changes.
  • Audit and strengthen data flows and data-privacy controls to prevent sensitive data exposure.
  • Act as a security and privacy gatekeeper in design and code reviews, requiring changes when necessary.
  • Improve supply-chain security across SAST, SCA, container scanning, and CI/CD hardening.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers across the company to scope, diagnose, and fix security issues.
  • Block releases on security or privacy grounds when warranted and escalate decisions clearly when needed.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Python, the company’s primary language.
  • Deep understanding of authentication and authorization concepts, including OAuth, JWTs, permission models, and secure token handling.
  • Experience designing and securing non-trivial data systems.
  • Ability to reason about risk, trade-offs, and real-world constraints.
  • Track record of shipping real security improvements, not just writing policy.
  • Experience with graph databases, ideally Neo4j or similar, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD and supply-chain security, including SAST, SCA, container scanning, and pipeline hardening, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Go or Rust is strongly preferred.
  • Some familiarity with frontend or React is useful, though not required.
  • Comfort working in a high-autonomy, ambiguous environment where problems must often be scoped independently.
