Description

  • Design and own the end-to-end data architecture for GenAI application deployments, including ingestion, transformation, serving layers, and enterprise data integration.
  • Work hands-on with application and ML teams to implement and validate data pipelines, schema designs, and data access patterns.
  • Support production-grade AI applications built in Python/FastAPI by building and validating the underlying data stack.
  • Partner closely with integration architects to anticipate data needs and fill technical gaps quickly.
  • Translate complex data architecture decisions into clear strategic recommendations for client leadership.
  • Implement data architecture solutions alongside the delivery team rather than only advising from a distance.
  • Define and enforce data governance, data quality, and lineage practices within the delivery environment.
  • Partner with client-side data and engineering teams to build understanding and ownership of the new architecture.
  • Ensure the solutions delivered are scalable, defensible, and ready for enterprise scrutiny.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience designing systems that have successfully gone to production.
  • Deep familiarity with lakehouse architectures.
  • Hands-on Snowflake experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in or adjacent to AI/ML application development.
  • Understanding of how LLMs and AI applications consume data.
  • Strong understanding of the full application development lifecycle.
  • Experience in a consulting or client-facing delivery environment.
  • Python fluency and comfort working in cloud-native data environments.
  • Ability to work in the US, with a strong preference for Mid-West or East Coast candidates.
  • Comfort with some travel, typically 25-50%, to client locations such as Ohio or Georgia; independent contractors should be able to travel up to 50% and work on a 1099 or C2C basis.
  • AI tooling mindset and interest in modern data infrastructure and applied GenAI delivery.
