Description

  • Partner with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, manufacturing, and inventory performance.
  • Conduct supplier audits, review technical quality documentation, and monitor supplier capabilities and process changes.
  • Lead onsite supplier problem-solving, root-cause analysis, failure investigations, and corrective actions, including NCR management.
  • Define technical and quality requirements and support supplier selection, procurement, and supplier relationship management.
  • Develop reliability, manufacturability, and process improvements for designs and manufacturing operations.
  • Provide technical reviews of drawings, specifications, material requirements, and supplier capabilities.
  • Facilitate PFMEA and APQP activities and support manufacturing instructions documenting quality-critical characteristics.
  • Lead supplier plant start-ups and project-manage new production-line and plant launches as the molten-salt supply chain scales.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, inspection, shipping/receiving, technicians, and subject-matter experts.
  • Identify process gaps, reduce risk and complexity, and hold suppliers accountable for improvement timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 6+ years of related manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with chemical plants and supplier management.
  • Deep manufacturing, industrial engineering, and process expertise.
  • Experience conducting supplier assessments and audits using quality systems such as ISO 9001, AS 9100, or IATF 16949.
  • Knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, MSA, capacity analysis, APQP, and first article inspection reports.
  • Ability to design and implement supplier quality improvement processes and procedures.
  • Technical proficiency with 2D blueprints and model drawings.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, negotiation, prioritization, problem-solving, judgment, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel, work extended periods onsite at vendors, and work nights, weekends, or on-call when required.
  • Ability to work around industrial hazards, including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage/current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.
  • Six Sigma certification, high-growth-company experience, supply chain experience with tooling or indirect sourcing, and assembly-team experience are preferred.
  • Ability to perform typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods.
