Description

  • Design, deploy and maintain production infrastructure for client workloads across Kubernetes and the broader platform stack (networking, storage, observability, CI/CD).
  • Own the operational health of client platforms, including incident response, triage, post-mortems and building systems that fail gracefully.
  • Evaluate, recommend and integrate well-maintained open source tooling that fits client needs and long-term maintainability.
  • Treat infrastructure as code by delivering version-controlled, peer-reviewed and repeatable configurations and automation.
  • Translate client operational needs into technical solutions, clearly communicating trade-offs between convenience and maintainability.
  • Balance technical excellence with real-world constraints such as deadlines, legacy systems and budgets while keeping quality high.
  • Act as a technical adviser to product and engineering teams, providing transparent timelines and building trust through clear communication.
  • Mentor colleagues, lead client engagements and contribute to shaping how Collabora delivers infrastructure consultancy as you grow in the role.

Requirements

  • Solid Kubernetes experience operating production clusters, troubleshooting workloads, and managing networking and storage in unfamiliar configurations.
  • Broader platform competence across networking, storage, Linux systems, CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.
  • Infrastructure-as-code mindset with practical experience using Ansible, Terraform or equivalent tools and an aversion to manual production changes.
  • SRE or customer-facing support background with experience diagnosing issues from limited information and communicating effectively during incidents.
  • Consultancy or client-facing technical experience, able to manage expectations across multiple projects and balance technical recommendations with business constraints.
  • Strong spoken and written English communication skills for documentation, incident reports and client interactions.
  • Self-directed work style with the ability to thrive in a remote, asynchronous environment and take ownership without close supervision.
  • Nice-to-have: Helm familiarity, cloud provider experience (AWS, GCP or Azure), CI/CD experience (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry), security/compliance awareness (network policy, RBAC, pod security standards), scripting/automation (Python, Bash or Go), Rust experience, and any open source contribution history.
