Description

  • Develop and execute the global licensing roadmap across the EU, Latin America, Africa, South Asia, and Hong Kong.
  • Prepare, review, and submit license applications and manage communications with regulators and government agencies.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel, consultants, and regulatory authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Work with Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to embed regulatory requirements into product and operational design.
  • Track global regulatory developments and advise management on market entry requirements and licensing risks.
  • Draft and maintain internal policies, licensing documentation, and regulatory reports.
  • Represent Coins.ph in regulatory discussions, industry associations, and working groups to support licensing outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or higher.
  • 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or crypto.
  • Strong track record of securing financial or payment licenses in the EU, Latin America, Africa, South Asia, or Hong Kong.
  • Deep understanding of payment services regulations, AML/CFT, e-money licensing, and crypto or virtual asset regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills with regulators and external counsel.
  • Excellent legal drafting and communication skills in English.
  • Additional language skills, especially Chinese, are a plus.
  • Ability to work across time zones and manage multiple licensing projects simultaneously.
