Description

  • Develop and execute the global licensing roadmap across the EU, Latin America, Africa, South Asia, and Hong Kong.
  • Prepare, review, and submit licensing applications for payments, e-money, remittance, and virtual asset services.
  • Manage communications with regulators and government agencies across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to embed regulatory requirements into product and operational design.
  • Monitor global regulatory developments and advise management on market-entry requirements, opportunities, and risks.
  • Draft and maintain internal policies, licensing documentation, and regulatory reports.
  • Represent Coins.ph in regulatory discussions, industry associations, and working groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or above.
  • 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience, including 3+ years in financial services, fintech, payments, or crypto.
  • Proven track record of securing financial or payment licenses in the EU, Latin America, Africa, South Asia, or Hong Kong.
  • Deep knowledge of payment services regulations, AML/CFT, e-money licensing, and crypto or virtual asset regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management ability with regulators and external counsel.
  • Excellent English communication and legal drafting skills.
  • Chinese language skills are preferred.
  • Ability to work across time zones and manage multiple licensing projects simultaneously.
