Description

  • Help oversee and implement Coinbase Australia’s regulatory compliance framework.
  • Monitor Target Market Determinations (TMDs) and support Design and Distribution Obligations (DDO) governance.
  • Review distribution data and trigger TMD reviews when required.
  • Maintain the regulatory breach register and coordinate breach assessments.
  • Support reportable situation notifications to ASIC.
  • Maintain structured records and audit trails aligned with AFSL licence conditions, RG 175, and the Corporations Regulations.
  • Support ASIC regulatory engagement by drafting responses to notices and compiling information for surveillance reviews.
  • Maintain engagement logs for regulatory interactions.
  • Own day-to-day execution of core regulatory compliance functions, including disclosure governance and financial resource monitoring.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a compliance, regulatory, or risk role within Australian financial services.
  • Working knowledge of the Corporations Act 2001, especially Chapter 7 (Financial Services and Markets), and ASIC regulatory guidance.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete complex tasks accurately under time pressure.
  • Effective written communication skills for drafting regulatory correspondence, breach assessments, and internal reports.
  • Ability to work independently on BAU regulatory tasks while escalating appropriately when judgment calls arise.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where processes are still being built.
  • Willingness to help design workflows rather than only follow existing processes.
  • Willingness to learn and innovate, particularly with AI tools.
  • Experience in the digital assets, crypto, or fintech industry, preferred.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as GradDipACG (GIA), RG 146 compliance, or progress toward a CA/CPA, preferred.
  • Experience with compliance monitoring tools, data analysis platforms, or automation of regulatory reporting workflows, preferred.

  • Annual base salary of AUD $113,300.
