Description

  • Serve as SoFi’s primary representative in direct engagement with the U.S. Congress, the Administration, and key staff.
  • Develop and execute targeted advocacy strategies to educate policymakers on SoFi’s policy views and legislative priorities.
  • Manage relationships with trade associations, think tanks, and consumer advocacy organizations to support coalition efforts.
  • Act as a liaison and relationship manager across an external advocacy portfolio.
  • Represent SoFi at legislative and policy events, forums, and conferences.
  • Promote SoFi’s thought leadership and advocacy goals with internal executives and external audiences.
  • Provide strategic advice on the political landscape and legislative developments to internal policy and business teams.
  • Summarize external engagements and key learnings for internal dissemination.
  • Advise the team on political and legislative activities to inform overall strategy.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in government affairs, with strong emphasis on direct lobbying and external relationship management.
  • Experience at a U.S. government or congressional office and/or within a fintech, payments, or financial services government affairs team preferred.
  • Proven expertise in political and government affairs tactics and strategies.
  • Deep network of relationships in Washington D.C. and/or key state capitals.
  • Experience administering political giving and ensuring compliance with federal lobbying disclosure requirements.
  • Deep working knowledge of fintech and/or financial services, especially in rapidly scaling environments.
  • Ability to identify complex legislative issues and translate them into actionable external-facing advocacy strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Track record of effective public speaking and relationship building.
  • Advanced degree in Law, Public Policy, Political Management, Legislative Affairs, Political Science, or a related field preferred.
