Description

  • Support M&A due diligence by assessing compliance policies, controls, and staffing of potential acquisition targets and drafting remediation plans.
  • Support acquisition integration by implementing compliance remediation plans across policies, procedures, training, and controls.
  • Support new market entry by assessing regulatory requirements, drafting compliance policies and governance programs, and working with regulators and bank partners to obtain licenses and bank accounts.
  • Support new product launches by conducting compliance risk assessments and proposing incremental controls.
  • Liaise with MLROs to identify local regulatory requirements for new products and related initiatives.
  • Engage with regulators and bank partners to explain how Coinbase has mitigated incremental compliance risk.
  • Identify compliance gaps and propose risk mitigants that enable sustainable growth.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple time-sensitive strategic compliance projects with key stakeholders across the business.

Requirements

  • Broad compliance expertise, including AML and sanctions advisory, enhanced due diligence, and international regulatory compliance.
  • Experience assessing risks, identifying compliance gaps, and designing control enhancements to support business growth.
  • Ability to lead multiple time-sensitive projects with urgency and focus.
  • Ability to foster and maintain effective working groups with stakeholders across corporate development, partnerships, and legal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots such as LibreChat, Gemini, and Glean in daily workflows.
  • Willingness to continuously learn as AI tools evolve and apply human-in-the-loop practices to produce business-ready outputs.
  • Knowledge of institutional adoption and use cases of digital assets and regulatory frameworks for trading and derivatives is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the digital payments ecosystem and the role of stablecoins in payments is preferred.
  • Experience working across multiple international regulatory regimes, including the UK, EU, and Singapore, is preferred.
  • In-person participation is required throughout the year, including company and team offsites.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $162,010 to $190,600 USD, excluding equity and bonus.
