Description

  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis for global accounting areas such as operating expenses, capitalized software, and operating cash.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Source-to-Pay teams to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting.
  • Support preparation and review of financial statements for the global consolidated audit and international subsidiary statutory financial statements.
  • Manage and review the work of junior accounting team members and support their professional development.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems, processes, and controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in critical financial infrastructure projects such as vendor transitions, system integrations, and automation initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures for accounting tasks.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis, information requests, and special projects as needed.
  • Maintain international subsidiaries’ parallel books of accounts under local GAAP and support monthly management reporting and analytical review.

Requirements

  • CPA or equivalent certification is required.
  • 13+ years of experience, ideally in a Big 4/Professional Services firm or a publicly traded fintech/SaaS company.
  • At least 4 years of direct team management or leadership experience.
  • Project management experience is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX.
  • Experience leading the month-end accounting close process.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across business functions and with senior management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with large ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle, plus advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots such as LibreChat, Gemini, and Glean in daily workflows.
  • Preferred: Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, and Google Suite.
  • Preferred: Experience working in a SOX control environment.
  • Preferred: Basic knowledge of digital assets and the crypto economy, or willingness to learn.
  • Preferred: Basic SQL knowledge and experience with reporting/analytics tools such as Snowflake and Looker.
  • Preferred: Experience in a bank, fintech, financial regulatory agency, or professional services firm serving financial institution clients.

  • Annual base salary range of $212,200 CAD, excluding equity and bonus.
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
