Description

  • Lead and mentor data engineering teams, set technical direction, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering excellence.
  • Own the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable data platforms, pipelines, and data models.
  • Define and lead migrations from Snowflake and SSIS to Azure Databricks and DBT.
  • Drive cloud integration, data quality, observability, architectural standards, and production readiness.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and promote CI/CD adoption and Git-based development.
  • Troubleshoot complex data platform issues and collaborate with data, product, architecture, and business stakeholders.
  • Lead large-scale data transformations and pipelines processing terabytes of data daily.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of data engineering experience, including 2–3+ years in a Lead or Staff-level role.
  • Experience owning system design and leading large-scale data platform implementations.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake, Azure Databricks, DBT, Python, and advanced SQL.
  • Experience with thousands of DBT models and data pipelines processing terabytes of data daily.
  • Deep knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, distributed systems, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
  • Extensive experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
  • Experience leading cloud-to-cloud migrations, preferably from AWS to Azure.
  • Experience in insurance or financial services, including claims, policies, underwriting, or risk domains.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, train, and manage engineering teams.
  • Preferred experience with data governance, observability, security, compliance, Kafka, Event Hubs, Delta Live Tables, lakehouse architectures, optimization, and multi-cloud environments.
