Description

  • Hunt for and remediate security vulnerabilities across Counterpart Assistant using custom tools and scripts.
  • Harden systems, services, and endpoints across the platform.
  • Establish and improve security monitoring for services and the overall stack.
  • Safeguard PHI and monitor deidentification practices to prevent data leakage.
  • Use AI tools, agents, and frameworks to scale vulnerability discovery while applying appropriate guardrails.
  • Review critical pull requests across teams and raise secure coding standards.
  • Run security training and mentor engineers on better security practices.
  • Partner with site reliability engineering, engineering leadership, and corporate security on defensive strategies.
  • Strengthen resilience and support disaster recovery readiness.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • 4+ years focused on application security, vulnerability research, and penetration testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify vulnerabilities with custom tooling you have built.
  • Experience using AI tools, agents, and frameworks to find vulnerabilities in day-to-day work.
  • Ability to write code across the stack and work comfortably in multiple programming languages.
  • Ability to balance security needs with the practical needs of engineers, clinicians, and operators.
  • Experience mentoring engineers toward better security practices.
  • Experience working on software that affects patient care (preferred mindset/experience).
  • Familiarity with setting appropriate guardrails when using AI for security work.
