Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain credit risk models and frameworks aligned with BACEN and IFRS 9 standards.
  • Monitor and manage retail credit exposures across merchant and consumer portfolios from origination through portfolio performance.
  • Develop and validate ML/AI-based models for PD, LGD, EAD, and behavioral scoring.
  • Build and maintain AI agents to automate risk monitoring, provisioning, and reporting workflows.
  • Partner with the Credit Policy team to define credit limits, strategies, and credit appetite aligned with the company’s RAS.
  • Perform stress testing, scenario analysis, and model backtesting to assess portfolio resilience.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Finance, Compliance, and Fraud teams to ensure consistency, explainability, and auditability across models.
  • Prepare and present insights and reports for senior management and regulators.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of BACEN credit risk regulations, including Res. BCB nº 265/2022, CMN nº 4.557/2017, CMN nº 2.682/1999, and Circular 3.978/2020.
  • Deep expertise across the retail credit lifecycle, including origination, behavioral scoring, collection, and recovery.
  • Experience in the payments and acquiring industry, including merchant, settlement, and receivables-backed credit risk.
  • Hands-on experience with IFRS 9 ECL modeling, including Stages 1, 2, and 3, and provisioning methodologies.
  • Proven experience developing and validating ML/AI credit risk models.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, R, or SAS for modeling, validation, and stress testing.
  • Familiarity with ICAAP and capital adequacy processes.
  • Understanding of model governance, documentation, and audit requirements.
  • Advanced English communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Hands-on, execution-driven, and comfortable iterating quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Automation-first mindset with interest in using AI and technology to improve processes.
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller who can simplify complex ideas.
  • Collaborative and curious, with the ability to work across Data Science, Risk, and Business teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical accuracy.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong ethical judgment and integrity in handling sensitive data.
