Description

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Solutions Engineering team while serving as a player-coach when needed.
  • Shadow team members and strengthen their technical expertise through guidance and support.
  • Manage onboarding, workload distribution, and performance feedback for team members.
  • Escalate, identify, and resolve customer, team, and regional issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Partner with regional and peer sales leaders to drive revenue targets and customer outcomes.
  • Coordinate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Support, and other internal teams to create scalable customer solutions.
  • Build cross-team and cross-office alignment, including knowledge sharing across global SE teams.
  • Maintain strong communication with Account Executives, Customer Success leads, and the regional Sales Director.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture with open communication, accountability, independence, and results focus.
  • Develop strong relationships outside the SE organization to support escalations and special projects.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of pre-sales or Solutions Engineering experience at a reputable IT company.
  • 5+ years of experience in a frontline or second-level Solutions Engineering manager role.
  • Strong understanding of the Northern European market, especially Benelux and Nordics, with a proven track record of customer engagement in that region.
  • Proven track record of business growth and talent acquisition/team building.
  • Demonstrated coaching, leadership, and team management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience handling escalations, team issues, and other management scenarios.
  • Understanding of customer buying decisions and the ability to influence them to drive revenue targets.
  • Expertise in internet technologies, including OSI layers 1-7, BGP, TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
  • Passion for technology and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • BSc/MSc or equivalent degree in a technology-related field preferred.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, or Go preferred.
  • Industry and technology certifications preferred.
  • Exposure to Zero Trust, Serverless computing, or other emerging technical trends preferred.
  • Cloud project deployment experience preferred.
  • Fluency in English and one other European language preferred.
