Description

  • Lead, coach, and enable a regional Solutions Engineering team as a player-coach.
  • Work closely with prospects and customers to support technical engagements and customer success.
  • Shadow team members and help strengthen their technical expertise.
  • Onboard and support new team members while balancing team workloads fairly.
  • Provide constructive feedback, address performance issues, and foster team development.
  • Escalate and resolve customer, team, and cross-functional issues quickly and effectively.
  • Partner with regional sales leadership and peer sales leaders to support revenue targets.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Support, and other internal teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-team coordination across SE teams globally.
  • Build and maintain a collaborative, open, and results-focused team culture.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of pre-sales or Solutions Engineering experience at a reputable IT company.
  • 5+ years of experience in a frontline or second-level Solutions Engineering manager role.
  • Strong understanding of the Northern European market, especially Benelux and Nordics, with proven customer engagement experience in that region.
  • Proven track record in business growth and talent acquisition.
  • Demonstrable coaching, leadership, and team management experience.
  • Demonstrable experience resolving escalations, team issues, and other management scenarios.
  • Understanding of customer buying decisions and the ability to influence them to drive revenue targets.
  • Expertise in internet technologies including OSI layers 1-7, BGP, TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
  • Technical curiosity and ongoing interest in Cloudflare products and broader internet technology trends.
  • BSc/MSc or equivalent degree in a technology-related field is preferred.
  • MBA is a plus.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, or Go is preferred.
  • Industry and technology certifications are preferred.
  • Exposure to Zero Trust, Serverless computing, or other emerging technical trends is preferred.
  • Experience in cloud project deployments is preferred.
  • Fluency in English and one other European language is preferred.
  • This position may require authorization to receive U.S.-controlled software or technology under export control laws.
