Description

  • Design and implement backend features and improvements in PHP.
  • Design and build APIs and integrations that support the booking flow.
  • Model and evolve data for availability, pricing, and reservations.
  • Own the performance, scalability, and reliability of services at scale.
  • Contribute to the migration toward microservices and event-driven services.
  • Lead technical discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders and help drive architecture decisions.
  • Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code and application documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, build, and ship features.
  • Mentor team members through pair programming and code reviews.
  • Re-architect and refactor existing systems and help define long-term technology direction.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of PHP web application software engineering experience.
  • Expert knowledge of relational databases, indexing, and search technologies.
  • Experience with API-driven design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of software best practices, design patterns, and testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end test automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, collaboration, ownership, and time management skills.
  • Business-level English fluency, verbal and written.
  • Experience identifying and improving application performance.
  • Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony (preferred).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS (preferred).
  • Experience designing and building microservices (preferred).
  • Experience with AI coding tools like Claude Code (preferred).
  • Experience working on remote-first, globally distributed teams (preferred).
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and GitHub (preferred).
  • Travel industry experience (a plus).
