Description

  • Support the collection, cleaning, structuring, segmentation, aggregation, and documentation of data from company reports, NGO analytics, disclosure platforms, research papers, and sector transition frameworks.
  • Use SQL to extract, query, and organise structured datasets for analysis.
  • Use Python to clean and transform data, run quality checks, support exploratory analysis, and build reproducible workflows.
  • Conduct research and analysis on the state of the corporate climate transition and identify gaps in the wider data ecosystem.
  • Support analysis across climate-related themes including emissions reduction targets, transition planning, sustainable finance, and corporate disclosure.
  • Map, synthesise, and summarise relevant academic research, industry reports, company disclosures, NGO analysis, and climate transition frameworks.
  • Monitor data integrity and quality by identifying errors, outliers, gaps, and limitations.
  • Help visualise and present datasets and insights in a clear, accessible, and decision-useful way.
  • Support administrative systems and processes such as project management tools like Asana.
  • Provide ad hoc support to key milestones and projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in sustainability, data, finance, economics, environmental science, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interest in applying data analytics and data science to climate, sustainability, and finance-related research questions.
  • Knowledge of SQL, including querying datasets, filtering and aggregating data, using joins, and explaining how data was prepared for analysis.
  • Knowledge of Python for data cleaning, transformation, exploratory analysis, visualisation, quality checks, and dataset handling.
  • Experience with pandas, NumPy, Jupyter notebooks, or similar tools is beneficial.
  • Good understanding of analytical fundamentals such as data quality, reproducibility, documentation, assumptions, limitations, and interpretation of results.
  • Good understanding of climate-related data, ESG and disclosure frameworks such as TCFD.
  • Good understanding of climate change reporting, sustainable finance, and companies’ emissions reduction targets.
  • Familiarity with FLAG, food systems, and/or the blue economy, plus related nature and biodiversity topics, is desirable for one of the roles.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • High attention to detail and a vigilant approach to spotting errors, inconsistencies, and outliers.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to maintain an organised workflow while reviewing large volumes of material.
  • Collaborative approach with excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Access to a personal computer with adequate security provisions.
  • Availability to work full time ideally for a 6-month period starting in July 2026.
