Description

  • Partner closely with regional sales and marketing teams to advance community goals and align outreach with commercial objectives.
  • Present at technical talks, meet-ups, webinars, demos, and trainings for both technical and non-technical audiences (online and in-person).
  • Coordinate and assist with planning for conferences, meet-ups, and events, including joint events with affiliate communities.
  • Proactively engage affiliate and third-party communities as a speaker and event coordinator to drive cross-community collaboration.
  • Create high-quality content targeted at engineers and technical end users, including videos, blog posts, and podcasts.
  • Write code and develop sample projects for demonstrations, tutorials, and teaching purposes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create and publish product-focused social media and newsletter content.
  • Develop, track, and report metrics that measure the activities and impact of Developer Relations against company goals.
  • Support and engage engineers in online communities such as Discord, Twitter, Slack, and GitHub Discussions.
  • Own and help shape the Developer Relations function as an early hire, taking high ownership of initiatives and strategy.

Requirements

  • Technical background with deep familiarity in the data domain (e.g., developer, infrastructure engineer, data engineer, data analyst).
  • Experience or strong understanding of databases, data stores, data warehouses, and distributed systems (preferred).
  • Practical experience with open source technologies and demonstrated contributions to open source projects.
  • Proven experience sharing knowledge and teaching engineers via blogs, videos, meetups, conference talks, or training sessions.
  • Prior formal experience in developer advocacy, developer evangelism, or developer marketing is a plus but not required.
  • Comfort and enthusiasm for organizing and hosting both formal and informal community events.
  • Willingness and readiness to be a frequent public speaker on technical topics and represent the company externally.
  • Excellent ability to explain complex technical topics simply and empathetically to diverse audiences.
  • Proactive initiative-taking and comfort giving constructive feedback.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time and be based in/near London, Berlin, or Amsterdam (regular travel required).
