Description

  • Own and build key backend services and infrastructure for the observability platform.
  • Design and implement scalable backend systems for ingesting, processing, and querying petabytes of observability data.
  • Build reliable, high-throughput data pipelines and APIs used by developers every day.
  • Collaborate with open-source contributors and customers to solve their challenges.
  • Incorporate community and customer feedback into backend architecture and API design.
  • Contribute to foundational services that improve developer experience and help engineers identify production issues faster.
  • Occasionally contribute to Go-based services.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
  • Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills, with experience using Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of API design, distributed systems, and data modeling.
  • Experience with Go is a plus.
  • Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Passion for open source and the developer community.
  • Experience creating developer tooling and designing for developers.
  • Preferred experience with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, or other analytical/OLTP databases.
  • Preferred experience with OpenTelemetry, logging pipelines, or metrics infrastructure.
  • Preferred experience with SDKs or client library design.
  • Preferred exposure to message queues, streaming systems like Kafka or NATS, or event-driven architectures.
