Description

  • Own and build backend services and infrastructure that power the observability platform.
  • Ensure reliable, high-throughput data pipelines and APIs for developers.
  • Collaborate with open-source contributors and customers to solve issues and incorporate feedback into architecture and API design.
  • Design and implement scalable backend systems for ingesting, processing, and querying petabytes of observability data.
  • Contribute to the foundational services that help engineers investigate and resolve production issues faster.
  • Work with a product focused on logs, metrics, traces, and session replays.
  • Help shape the developer experience of the platform.
  • Occasionally contribute to Go-based services.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
  • Experience building developer tools or infrastructure preferred.
  • Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills.
  • Experience with Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of API design, distributed systems, and data modeling.
  • Experience with Go is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Passion for open source and the developer community.
  • Experience creating developer tooling and designing for developers.
  • Experience with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, or other analytical/OLTP databases preferred.
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, logging pipelines, or metrics infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience with SDKs or client library design preferred.
  • Exposure to message queues, streaming systems like Kafka or NATS, or event-driven architectures preferred.
