Description

  • Own the company’s financial operations, including FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, payroll, stock administration, expenses, and tax compliance.
  • Run the day-to-day financial operations and support the monthly close and reporting process.
  • Manage annual budgeting and forecasting to align the financial plan with company strategy.
  • Diligence target companies’ financials, evaluate transaction structures, close acquisitions, and integrate acquired businesses.
  • Work with the CFO on equity and debt fundraising, including preparing investor materials and data rooms.
  • Maintain financial models and perform reporting and analysis to support timely decision-making.
  • Conduct research-driven analysis on pricing, unit economics, and the competitive landscape to inform product and go-to-market strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal and state tax requirements.
  • Support the buildout of scalable financial systems and processes that can grow without adding unnecessary headcount.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success designing, implementing, and improving scalable processes.
  • Strong modeling and analytical skills, including the ability to prototype internal tools and automate workflows using reliable sources of truth.
  • Ability to communicate precisely, quickly, and in a way tailored to different audiences.
  • Proactive project management skills with the ability to self-direct multiple projects for at least two weeks at a time.
  • Deep commitment to the mission and the ability to sustain long-term effort.
  • Long-term commitment to the role; this is not intended to be a short-term assignment.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Confidence with QuickBooks Online or NetSuite preferred.
  • Experience on teams that acquired and integrated companies in a way that drove expansion preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Must live and work in one of Civitech’s designated states or work from the Austin co-working space.
  • Interview process requires applicants to think critically and communicate clearly without relying on AI during the hiring process.
