Description

  • Drive prioritized security findings from root-cause analysis through deployment, validation, and closure documentation.
  • Remediate PHP vulnerabilities involving injection, authentication, deserialization, credential exposure, and insecure coding patterns.
  • Upgrade Composer dependencies while resolving breaking changes and transitive conflicts.
  • Perform AWS remediation, including configuration hardening, IAM updates, and secret rotation.
  • Migrate credentials to managed secrets storage in coordination with the Remediation Lead.
  • Validate fixes through automated tests and confirm vulnerabilities no longer reproduce.
  • Identify recurring vulnerabilities and contribute systemic fixes to the team playbook.
  • Collaborate with the client engineering team within its branching, code review, CI/CD, and delivery practices.
  • Help client engineers adopt secure coding practices.

Requirements

  • Senior-level professional experience with PHP, including legacy or inherited codebases; recent active PHP work is required.
  • Hands-on experience fixing OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities at the code level.
  • Excellent written and spoken English for daily collaboration with a US-based engineering team.
  • Experience writing automated tests with PHPUnit or an equivalent framework.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines (preferred).
  • Experience with security scanners such as Snyk, Veracode, Dependabot, or Checkmarx (preferred).
  • Experience with Laravel, Symfony, AWS services, Terraform or CloudFormation, Docker, ECS/EKS, or legacy-system integrations (preferred).
